I grew up in Lockport (Grandparents owned Par’s Shoes) and achieved a degree in Geology from SUNY Buffalo in 1991. I spent four years traveling around the country as a Geologist however I always migrated back to WNY. In 1995, I changed my career to Information Technology and applied the same common sense to solve issues that had worked for me as a Geologist.

In 2001 I took a position at HSBC in the IT Security department. After only a few years, I was nominated to the Global IT Architecture board with 4 of my colleagues from around the globe. It was a rewarding position and managed to gain the trust and support from many Senior Managers and put together a plan to migrate to centralized platforms for cost savings and consistency.

Three years ago, I stepped down as Global Security Architect with the expectation that I would become “General Contractor” to implement the plan

In March 2010, I accepted a position at Roswell Park Cancer Institute on their IT Security team. When I am not trying to make sense of the IT industry, I enjoy custom woodworking and construction/remodeling.
